Pet Cremation With Compassion

FAQ's

1. Can I pre plan for my pet’s aftercare services?
  • Yes, you can pre plan and arrange all of your pet’s aftercare services at any time. Many find comfort in doing so and are relieved of this decision making at the difficult time of their pets passing.
2. What are my options/rights when my pet passes?
  • You can find a reputable pet crematorium to either communally or privately cremate your pet. You do not have to have to use the crematory that your vet contracts with even if your pet passes at their facility.
  • You can locate a pet cemetery that can bury your pet.
  • California law does not allow a pet to be buried on a pet owner’s property.
3. What does it cost to get my pet cremated?
  • You can find our cremation pricing here or you can contact your vet or other crematoriums for their current pricing.
4. How do I know that I am receiving my pets cremains?
  • The honest answer is that you don’t know. You have to trust the people and facility that is taking care of your pet.
  • Things to ask yourself and your preferred cremation facility:
    • Who is taking care of my pet?
    • Are the people whom I talked with on the phone actually the ones taking care of the process?
    • Are they “pet people”, kind and compassionate toward your current situation?
    • Can I tour the facility and actually see where my pet is going to be cremated?
    • Can I schedule a same day witnessed service so that I can actually be there when my pet is cremated?

It doesn’t matter if a metal tag with a # is cremated along with your pet or if the facility has the most sophisticated tracking program on their computer. All of these things are subject to manipulation if the person taking care of your pet doesn’t care.

5. When faced with the fact that my pet needs to be euthanized, what are my options?
  • You can make an appointment at your local veterinarian facility.
  • You can contact your local animal shelter or SPCA. Many County facilities provide pet euthanization for County residents for a lower cost.
  • You can contact an at home pet euthanasia expert to schedule a private service in the comfort of your own home.
6. How long does it take to receive my pet’s cremains back?
  • At Heaven’s Gate Pet Memorial Center it takes 3-5 days once we have your pet. A same day service is always an option.
